Around the USA in 30 days - Taylor Campground, Columbia, NJ
This is the first leg of my journey around the US - Columbia, NJ. My sister,Liz and I flew into New York's JFK today and met our California step-sister,Dawn. We're driving to Taylor Campground in Columbia to meet our friend from MD, Paula. We're Glamping in an RV rented from the campground for a Sisters on the Fly event, "It's a Nor'Easter."
Dan flew to Little Rock, AR today for a meeting with one of our company, Triand, Inc,'s clients, tomorrow. Then he'll be off to VA and FL. After that, he'll head up to NYC to spend a few days with us there.
19 June 2013 09:48Dawn and Liz Wanted to go through NYC!!! So we Honk! Honk!!
Honked!!! our way through the Holland Tunnel.
We stopped for a few groceries (read wine) and coffee filters. I called the campground to find out what kind of filters to buy and just happened to ask about towels. "No, we don't provide towels." Sheets and blankets? "No, sorry, no linens at all."
Second stop Kmart. Liz and I ran in and left Dawn asleep in the back seat, she had taken the red-eye from LA the night before. We made sure we cracked the windows and locked the doors. We bought the cheapest sheets and towels we could find and later discovered the sheets were not only extremely scratchy, they were also transparent they were so thin! OH and "No laundry facilities either." Oh well, I'm sure they would have disintegrated anyway!
In the meantime, Dawn woke up, soaked in sweat and locked in the car. When she tried to get out, the alarm went off! Poor baby! She said, "You wouldn't leave a puppy in a hot car!!!"
When we got to the RV we had rented, our dear friend, Paula Taylor was waiting for us!

St. Louis with Liz!
After our hike and float in the Ozarks, Liz and I spent an extra day in St. Louis.
The Arch
We went to the very top of the arch. These are pictures from each side.
The door to the little elevator.
The Arch.
Cool bridge in the distance.
Pretty church.
Pumpkin beer and salmon bites.
Dinner at Charlie Gitto's
Fried ravioli.
Ted Drewes crowd.
It was good, but not as good as Shakes in Georgetown!
Autographed hats.
Our hotel was a bank in another life.
Breakfast crepes.
When I was young and would hit my sister, my mom called me hammer hand.
